FLOUR BABY PROJECT
HERE ARE THE DIRECTIONS FOR OUR FLOUR BABY PROJECT
Get a sack of flour (5 lb. bag). This will be your “baby”. You must name your baby.
You will need to bring your baby to school with you for the first week. The second week of the project you can find a babysitter. Yes, I have decided that you will have to pay your babysitter. You can barter with the sitter to earn credits for sitting time. However you work out the rates is up to you and the sitter.
Bartering means that you can wash their car in exchange for babysitting services, you can do extra dishes, or just pay them with cash. However, they must be paid. Keep track of how much it costs you so that you will be able to include that information on your report sheet.
You must acquire clothing, and supplies for your baby. Don’t go spending a lot of money, just use a cloth towel for receiving blanket if you don’t have one, or cannot borrow one.
You will also need to go to the grocery store or check online to find out what the cost is for the following:
Formula
Bottles
Bottle brush
Diapers
Wipes
Diaper rash cream
onesies
gowns or pajamas
baby detergent and softener for washing clothes
pacifier
Of the items above, also find out how much the baby will need per week of each consumable item.
You will need to fill out the Project worksheet and hand it in. The more complete it is the better grade you will get.
Extra Credit
Find out what some of the other items that that you would need will cost for example:
Health insurance
Hospital bill for delivery
Doula or Midwife for home birth
Anything that you can think of that will make this project more complete!!
