Dear Grade 11 Students,
In response to the feedback we received from Grade 11 students over the past three years, you will not be sitting for the PSAT this year.
However, since the PSAT is also the route of entry to the National Merit Scholarship Program (an academic competition conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation in the USA), we have ordered 10 exams for Grade 11 students who wish to try and enter the competition.
The NMSC is an independent, non-profit organization that conducts an annual academic competition for recognition and college scholarships. The PSAT/NMSQT is the screening test for high school students who wish to participate.
You can find more information by visiting the website www.nationalmerit.org.
You can also get a copy of the NMSC Student Guide from the High School Office.
If you decide to take the PSAT (scheduled on 11 October), please sign up with Ms Injy El-Kashef any day during break. Deadline to sign up is Sunday 1 October.
Remember that there are only 10 places, so hurry up!
With all wishes of success from the College Counseling Services
