  • Due:  Legal Speech rough drafts

Thursday, March 22 (St. Catherine of Sweden’s Feast Day!)

  • Begin presentation of Legal Speeches
  • Should take all class
  • All students critique, decide verdicts after both sides have presented
  • Have ceremonial speech(es) for St. Catherine of Sweden
  • Make toasts as a final form of ceremonial speeches

Friday, March 23

  • Memorization Quiz
  • Finish Legal Speeches not presented last class
  • Continue with student critiques and verdicts

Tuesday, March 27

  • No weekly quote for memorization (only one day of class this week)
  • Begin Political Speech discussion
  • Look at rubric, outline for next speech
  • Determine elements of political speech different from ceremonial and legal
  • Written v. impromptu style of delivery
  • Discuss structure, creation of a plan for implementation
  • Watch Presidential debate example (if time allows)
  • Homework: Select a platform for political speech

  • Ms. Jen will be working with the 8th graders for this period, so the Logic & Rhetoric lesson plans will be on hold until Tuesday, April 3
