Time Sept. 07, 2017

This course consists of two sections - Algebra and Counting & Probability.

Algebra section covers exponents  and  radicals,  linear  equations  and  inequalities,  ratio  and proportion, systems of linear equations, quadratics, and complex numbers. Our textbook is Art of Problem Solving Introduction to Algebra by Richard Rusczyk. The philosophy of this course is that students develop more by learning to solve problems they have not seen before, as opposed to offering repeated drills that students can memorize their way through.

Counting & Probability includes basic and intermediate counting concepts, including case-work, multiplication, permutations, combinations, Pascal’s triangle, probability, combinatorial identities, and the Binomial Theorem. Our textbook is Introduction to Counting & Probability by David Patrick.
