Many of the students worked hard but many did not perform well. They clearly can use more time to study and write the test. Please tell your children (we will not be meeting tomorrow) that they can study over the weekend and have 1/2 the period on Monday to fill in and complete the test. 

Also please inform them that corrections will only be worth 1/8 (12.5%) of the remaining points and not the amount they are possibly counting on. 

I am also tryng to figure out how to make the class work for them to learn. While the group work initally was engaging for them, it required everyone to work hard and prepare their assigned work well. Regretfully, a number of the students did not do their inital preparation well and this was a cause of their poor performance. Then the students who did the inital preparation had to carry the students who did not. 

We will be working on the commentary of Rashi for the shira next week. This will require them to refer to the information that was assessed on this test.
