Dear Students and Families, I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Yahayra Marte Gonzalez and I am honored to be your teacher.
This is my fourth year of teaching; I am so excited to be here. I am looking forward to working with you and your child in reaching his or her full potential. We will have many wonderful experiences and opportunities to learn and grow in the days ahead. I believe that communication is the key to a great parent-teacher relationship. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. You can send me an email me at Ymarte@doingleadership.com or call me at (386) 218-3906.
I will also do my part by keeping thinkwave current so that you may be able to see your child’s progress. I would be sending out newsletter each month to update you on field trips, class events as well as things that are up coming. For individual concerns, I will contact you by phone, send a note home, or email you (if an email address was provided). Please feel free to participate in your as many class activities as you can. Helping hands are always needed. I look forward to all the upcoming events I have planned for our 2013-2014 school year, please remember that you can always help out with classroom field trips; or classroom parties, or any other participation that will enrich our classroom experiences. I am looking forward to a wonderful and exciting 2013-2014 school year with you and your child! Sincerely, Yahayra Marte Some important information to start off the year:
***We love to celebrate birthdays. Please let me know in advance if you plan on bringing in a treat for your child to share with the class. This ensures that any student in our class will not be placed in an uncomfortable situation or get their feelings hurt.
***Homework will require some parental involvement. Your cooperation is essential in developing a positive homework habit.
***Attendance is important in my class. What we do in class involves active participation, it is very important that your child attends each day. However, I do realize that sickness, family emergencies, and doctor’s appointments do occur. Whenever possible, your child’s schoolwork will be saved for him/her to complete upon their return to school.
That is it for now!
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns as the school year gets started.
